THE TOUR
The Protected Marine Area of Tavolara-Punta Coda Cavallo extends south of the Gulf of Olbia, in north-eastern Sardinia. It starts from Capo Ceraso up to San Teodoro and includes the two main islands of Tavolara and Molara, as well as a long series of islets and minor rocks. With this half-day inflatable boat tour, available in the morning or in the afternoon, you can admire the seabed full of life, thanks to the effect of the conservation measures of the marine reserve. By making at least three stops, you can relax on board a comfortable rubber boat, dive, swim and snorkel in complete safety, immersed in a landscape full of islands, rocks, rocky inlets and sandy bays, which allows you to propose different itineraries chosen according to the best sea weather conditions. Among the various possibilities, a stop under the imposing limestone cliff of Tavolara, where the luminous seabed rapidly descends to considerable depths, or a stop in the Molara Island pools, known for the incredible clarity of the water that generates wonderful contrasts. with the granite rocks and the vegetation of the island.

The Marine Protected Area of Tavolara-Punta Coda Cavallo
Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) have become in recent decades one of the most important tools in the world for biodiversity conservation and resource management. Among the tasks of the MPAs are: protection and enhancement of the marine environment, environmental education, public awareness and information, research and monitoring of protected species, integrated coastal strip management and promotion of sustainable touristic development.
The Marine Protected Area Tavolara Punta Coda Cavallo covers the coast of north-eastern Sardinia, from Capo Ceraso to Cala Finocchio, and includes the islands of Tavolara, Molara and Molarotto. Approximately 15,000 hectares of sea under protection for the naturalistic value of the marine and island environments.
